Branch: Santo Domingo, Main Office

Enterprise: Seamstress

Ms. Estabania de la Cruz, 34 years old, lives with her husband,  Mr. Fausto Batista and their three children (8, 4 and 3 years old), all three of whom are going to school.  Together they own a piece of land that they purchased in 1996.  Currently they live in a rental house while they continue to build their own house.  In addition to running her  business, Estabania takes care of the home and their three children.

Ms. Estabania started up her business as streamstress in 1989.  She has been managing the business by herself, as her husband is employed in the private sector.

In 1999 Ms. Estebania received her first loan of RD $5,000.00 from ADOPEM and, in 2000, received a second loan of  RD $ 10,0000.00.  She utilized both loans to purchase materials to support her business.  She qualified for a third loan of RD $15,000.00 in 2001, which she utilized to invest into her business.  In the following year she received an additional two loans - RD $ 25,000.00 and RD $ 35,000.00 - which she used to grow her business, to finish constructing her home, and to install iron gates for security.  Estebania is currently paying off her fifth loan from ADOPEM.  Over the years she has built an excellent credit history.

Estebania’s vision for the future is open up an upholstery business and manage it with the support of her children, who she then could employ.
